Tadao Ando is a self-taught Pritzker Prize-winner architect from Japan. Ando was a boxer in his early life and later focused on architecture inspired by the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. Tadao Ando is widely considered a master architect and known for his zen philosophical influence on his designs.

Ando traveled across Russia, Asia, Africa, and Europe to watch and experience global architecture in his early 20's.
